ASIAN HERITAGE EXHIBITS IN THE ATRIUM ROOM
Visit the Atrium Room to see displays of historic photos and news items about Oregon’s often forgotten Asian Pioneers. See exhibits about early Asian loggers and farmers. Learn about a 1911 colony of Japanese near Eugene and the shameful Ping Yang School bombing in Marcola.
Did you know that one of our most famous Oregonians (known outside of Oregon) was Bhagat Singh Thind? He helped plan India’s rebellion against Britain from Astoria. Did you know that men from Hawaii and Tahiti were at Fort Umpqua in 1836? Learn about our Asian pioneers through rare photos from the collection of Stephen Williamson, Curtis Irish and other Oregon historians. Slide shows will take place on the Atrium Stage both Saturday and Sunday.

JOIN US TO HONOR THE ELDERS
OF OREGON’S ASIAN CELEBRATION
Join us on the Atrium Stage to recognize those early visionaries who founded the Asian Celebration twenty-five years ago. Did they ever imagine it would last this long? What were some of the milestones along the way?
Watch us as we talk to people who have been important to the success of the Asian Celebration. It’s your chance to learn our own history and connect with friends. The interviews will last 10-15 minutes each and the audience is encouraged to participate. It should be a lot of fun for visitors of all ages.
Come celebrate our founders and the uniqueness of Oregon’s Asian Celebration. Our videos will be preserved and uploaded to You Tube to share with people around the world. A complete list of interviewees and their times will be posted on the Atrium Stage.
